Montana State Drivers Manual Research Practice Test

In Montana, the rules regarding cell phone use while driving are designed to enhance safety on the roads. The correct answer indicates that hands-free use is permitted for phone calls, which allows drivers to maintain better control of their vehicle while communicating. This means that drivers can use devices such as Bluetooth headsets or built-in car systems to make calls without having to physically handle their phones.

At the same time, texting while driving is explicitly prohibited. Texting requires the driver to take their eyes off the road, which significantly increases the risk of accidents. The legislation reflects an understanding of the dangers associated with distracted driving and aims to reduce such behaviors by enforcing these specific rules.

The other options either allow forms of use that are not permitted, such as texting while driving, or impose a complete ban on any cell phone use, which does not align with the current regulations that allow hands-free calls. Understanding these rules is crucial for maintaining safety on the road and adhering to state laws.
